Google today has rolled out an update to the Gmail app for iOS that gives users the ability to further curtail email tracking. The latest update adds a new setting that allows users to block external images in emails from being displayed automatically. With today’s update, users can choose to be asked each time whether or not to display external images in an email. This includes email trackers that can be hidden in the body of emails....

Google Maps is adding a small, but very useful feature that lets users save where they parked. Available on both iOS and Android, the feature can also provide reminders for when your parking meter is about to expire. Tapping the blue dot that marks your current location brings up a menu with a new “Set as parking location” option. Once saved, a green dot with a ‘P’ will appear on-screen....

Saving Google Maps for Offline Use This is how it’s done in the Android app, but the process is similar in iOS. Start by finding the area you want to save. If you want to save the area around a place that’s listed on Google Maps, just tap the place symbol, like I did for the airport in my city below. A place card will appear. The novelization of Godzilla: King of the Monsters reveals that the consequences of King Ghidorah’s return reached all the way to Skull Island, where a new battle began for King Kong. Kong didn’t take part in the action in King of the Monsters, but apparently he had a challenge of his own to deal with, except it occurred off-screen. When Jonah (Charles Dance) and Emma (Vera Farmiga) use the Orca to wake up Ghidorah, they unwittingly unleash a disaster that could devastate the worlds beyond their understanding....

The newly released DLC Ghost of Tsushima Legends is free to download and play for the existing Ghost of Tsushima players on PS4. Though the response is quite good among the players and it’s definitely a recommended DLC (v1.1) update on the base game. However, we can’t deny that the online co-op multiplayer ‘Legends’ game mode does come with multiple errors or bugs as well apart from the game improvements, etc....

Earlier this month, Google provided the first demo of AR navigation in Maps for Android and announced that Local Guides will be the first users to gain access. Google this week is now reaching out to Local Guides on both Android and iOS. AR navigation in Google Maps overlays walking directions and business listings over a live camera view. It is aimed at addressing how GPS is notoriously inaccurate in urban environments by making the camera another sensor as part of a Visual Positioning Service (VPS)....

Last month during the Apple Watch event, CEO Tim Cook also announced the Apple TV’s price was cut $30, down to $69. It was also announced that HBO, in partnership with Apple, is launching a standalone streaming app called HBO Now. A Game Boy Advance emulator has quietly passed Apple’s App Store review team and is now available on the App Store hidden inside an app that at first glance appears to generate baby names. The Game Boy Advance emulator is activated through the $1.99 app, dubbed “Awesome Baby Names”, with a series of secret button presses like some of the past emulators that have snuck into the App Store....
