Google Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Google has offered 2FA or “two-step verification” (2SV) for its accounts for several years. Once enabled, you’ll receive a prompt on your phone to verify whether an attempted login is legitimate. In the blog post, Google exec Mark Risher writes: Soon we’ll start automatically enrolling users in 2SV if their accounts are appropriately configured. Today we are looking at the Gold Apple Watch Sport and comparing it to something closer to the real deal. Today during its Morning with Google+ event, Google made a point of noting that it is attempting to “revolutionize the field of photography” with its various Google+ tools and services, but admitted that it’s slightly behind with its iOS app. On mobile devices, Google has always done full-size backups and background sync for Android devices, but it announced today that those features would soon roll out to the iOS version of Google+ in a future update....

Last month, Google announced that Lens — its set of visual search and analysis tools — is coming to iOS. First introduced at last year’s Google I/O developer conference, it will be rolling out over the coming weeks to all users using Google Photos. Google Lens, like Assistant, is an extension of Google Search. It can analyze what’s in an image and provide relevant actions and search results. For example, when analyzing a picture with a phone number or address, it will provide suggestions to call and get directions....

How does it work? The new Google Maps preview feature is available in the Labs section of Gmail settings. The quickest way there is to press the green lab icon from your Gmail account. Scroll down through the many features listed until you get to Google Maps previews in mail. Click Enable and then save changes. Now when you get an email containing an address Gmail will automatically pull up its location in Google maps and provide you with the option to preview it at the bottom of your email....

Gene Hackman is a talent sorely missed in films today. Though Hackman is likely enjoying his well-deserved retirement, we can’t help but wish we could get just a few more performances from this acting legend. But we are at least thankful he has left us with a number of classic films to enjoy for years to come. Google’s Maps app for iPhone and iPad got a small but useful update on the App Store today. The latest version of the Google Maps iOS app now includes a couple of handy features. First up, and undoubtedly the most useful for drivers is the up-to-date gas prices in the US and Canada. The feature was included in the Android version of Google’s app a couple of months ago and lets users check nearby gas stations to see which has the most affordable prices....

Google has just pushed an update for the official Google+ app for iOS, bringing with it support for iPad and iPod touch, two devices the app was previously unavailable for, among a few other features including aggregated circle add notifications, huddle settings, and the usual “Performance and stability improvements”. Unfortunately, this iPad support is not completely native as the app will just be a pixel-doubled iPhone application. This choice by Google is still better than no iPad support at all, though....
